The Spring Festival is a different name for the Chinese New Year . It's celebrated according to the lunar calendar , It's actually celebrated in winter . The month prior to the New Year is called Lahyueh Every year ,

  When Lahyueh arrives , families are getting busy making preparations for the New Year . Besides cleaning up your house inside and outside , you have to buy Nienhuo .

  Food and other articles for use during the New Year season are called Nienhuo differs from family to family comforming to their own custom . However , almost every family prepares a special kind of New Year pudding made 0f glutinous rice flour .

  People also get New Year couplets written and pasted on door panels and get ready their red packages to give money to children . People bustle about until the New Year's Eve .

  The New Year's Eve is the most celebrated day during the Spring Festival .

  The New Year's Eve is the day before the Chinese New Year . All family are getting together to have a plentiful dinner . During the Spring Festival season , people usually make ceremonial calls on New Year to wish good luck to friends .

春節就是中國新年,是按著農曆算的,應該算是在冬天。新年的前一個月叫做臘月。一進臘月,家家都為了過年忙起來了。除了要把房子裡裡外外都弄乾淨,還得買許多年貨。年貨是春節裡要吃的或是用的東西,每一家有自己的習慣,不都一樣。但是年糕是一定要準備的,用的有春聯、紅包什麼的,一直要忙到除夕才休息,除夕是中國新年的前一天,是春節裡最熱鬧的一天。這天全家人一定要團圓在一起,吃一頓年夜飯。新年裡大家互相拜年。互祝這新的一年裡,什麼事都順利。
