Be quits

This is a spoken expression used in order to tell another person that you are now back in an equal relationship, because one of you has paid back money that was owed, or each of you has done something good for the other, or something bad to the other.

I can pay you £25 tomorrow, and then we'll be quits.

"Thanks for the ride." "You're welcome - I think that makes us just about quits."
