The problem with the original example is that "to school", it looks like a location, but actually it is not, or just partly, it made it quite complex. I think 上学 or 上下学 is better for it than 去学校。 (I don't know if there is a section here for to school/to the school, to bed/to the bed etc.)
Anyway, how to translate it?...
Let's catch the bus! - 让我们赶上公车把
Let's catch the bus to (the) school! - 让我们赶上公车去学校把
Or how would you say this in everyday life?
Is it correct to say 上学坐的公车 for "the bus that I use for going to school"?
