Greetings.

The word ‘UPPITY’ from dictionaries has the following definitions. I have also included the Chinese translations for you.

1. Snobbish, uncivilized and disrespectful (the list goes on)
自負的, 沒有教養的, 無禮的

2. Presumptuously arrogant
帶著傲慢的放肆

3. Brandishing immodest boasting that need to be squelched.
厚顏無恥的炫耀及自吹自擂的行為必須連根拔除


Other definitions include:

Rebuff or ignore others as being social inferiors
如同 “狗眼看人低” 的意思

Imitate, admire, or seek association with people regarded as social superiors.
會模仿高尚的人並諂媚的討好巴結

Characterised by offensive boldness; and displaying ostentatiously an insolence or impertinence air of self-satisfied superiority in matters of taste.
懷著大膽冒犯他人的性格, 而自我招搖地顯示出一股自誇自大無禮的行為.

Thanks for the complement. I reckon 'putting on airs of superiority' is most appropriate. How about 'riding a high horse'?
