我們應如何正確的翻譯這句話呢?

歌詞中所附的中譯是:
我曾到過天堂，但從來不曾屬於自己

也曾有人譯為:
我曾到過天堂，但從來不曾進到自己的心裡.

其實, 我認為都譯錯了, 錯在把第二個to與第一個to作了對照
因而譯成了這些不知所云的語句.
到過天堂與屬於自己根本是不能對照的兩回事
再說, 進到自己的心裡與I've never been to me意思根本就不搭
進到自己的心裡怎會說成to me呢?

其實這句話的意思很簡單, 前半句與後半句說的是同一件事
由簡返這句話原應是:
I've been to paradise
But I've never been (to paradise) to me.
我曾到過天堂，但對我來說我從未到過(天堂).

說者是因為一切的美麗經歷終成虛渺一場空, 有感而發.
to me就是「對我來說」, 別想得太深奧.
括號裡的部份因為重複而省略了,
換句話說, 原句的前後兩個to意思是不一樣的,
前者是「到」, 後者是「對於」.
括號裡的to就是指前半句的同一件事,
而不是「到過天堂」與「到過內心」的兩相對照.
