BURN A HOLE IN THE POT 穿煲
This phrase could be a Cantonese saying of Hong Kong origin. I suppose it means that if a person tells a lie and later on inadvertently contradicts his lie, then he would have burnt a hole in the pot. Hole in the pot literally means that water is slipping through and the remains can hold no longer. Hence, 穿煲 Therefore the 'truth' is mighty and shall prevail. If it is not the truth, then the lie must be very well invented. Try hiding the truth to earth, it will rise again; a saying similar in meaning to that of “paper wraps no fire”.
