準備一份針對欲申請科系所寫的自傳，除了當備審資料外，面談時若需用英文作自我介紹，更可使你言之有物，條理分明。

高中生通常專業經驗不足，也較難對自己未來學習方向有確定把握，所以在自傳中可描述過去經驗，交待學歷背景，選系動機。理想的自傳長度是200～300字，內容可參考以下要點：

一、家庭背景、人格特質
家庭背景對你申請某科系有無影響？與你的個性、生涯規劃、特殊價值觀有什麼關係？切忌流水帳似的長篇大論，如父親是程式設計師，影響你想申請資訊科學系，這點可寫。而祖父職業是代書與你的選系動機無關，便不需特別介紹。又如母親慈愛且常當義工，使你想見賢思齊，則可以適時加入段落中。家庭成員間的情感以及家庭氣氛對你若有特殊影響，也是可書寫的主題。不過，好文章要剪裁，不要試圖在短短的段落中包山包海，只要聚焦於你最想呈現、影響最深的主題來寫。

二、求學經歷
在求學過程中的有無特殊表現？與所選的科系有何關係？多才多藝的人行文之間要謙虛，強調你從豐功偉業中的所體會的學習精神、獲得的學習成就。沒有彪炳戰績的人，則可以談特別難忘的學習經驗，強調自己學習認真、投入，強調一點一滴的學習經驗，都在為將來的人生作準備。

三、 社團活動
社團經驗若可以彰顯自己為申請該科系的所做的準備，則可仔細描寫社團所規劃的活動。如果沒有相關，可以就拓展「人際關係」、表現「多樣才華」的觀點去強調自己參與社團活動的經驗。

四、嗜好、休閒
與攻讀的科系若無關，則只需點出自己懂得生活調劑，身心健康，不是無聊的書呆子即可。

五、未來目標
讀完大學有何計畫？大學所選的科系如何協助你實現生涯之夢？

以上五點的內容要懂得適當組織，使文意流暢連貫。

沒有人是十項全能，人見人愛的，你的自傳重點是透過學經歷的陳述，表現你的獨特之處，把自己最特別之處不卑不亢地表達出來，就是一份成功的自傳。

英文自傳、自我介紹範例
*範例一：外文系
I am Wenshin Lin. Sophia is my English name. I am eighteen years old, studying in a public girls’ high school. I come from a well-to-do family. My father works in a bank and mother works in a bookstore. I am the only child in the family; however, I am not the so-called spoiled child. My parents make very sure of that by training me to be independent.

Throughout my academic career, I have not only getting god grades but also being very active on sport field and in various societies. I play volleyball and enjoy the team spirit. I have joined the drama club and participated in many speech English contests. I really like to take part in school activities. Through them I make may friends, have lots of fun , and gain many valuable experiences.

I have been the class English tutor for almost three years. I love to discuss and share the experience of learning English with my classmates. We often read China Post and Time Magazine, and then discuss the content, word usage and practice speaking English on the basis of the English materials. At the beginning we found it was quite hard because we could hardly understand what the content was about, but we encouraged each other not to give up. Gradually we found that we had made improvement, which made us extremely excite. Later the group discussion of English books and magazines has become one of the most enjoyable things for us every week. Thanks to all these experiences, I won the first prize for school English speech contest in my second year of high school and many of my English articles had been published on China Post.

My fondness of English has been developed since my childhood. Being the only child, I was lonely, with no one to play with. My mother understood how I felt, so she brought me with her all the time. Hence the bookstore where my mom worked my childhood playground, and books have been my playmates since then. When we were in the bookstore, my mom would show me those fancy books with cute illustrations on it. At first I was drawn by the pictures and then curious about those strange symbols called words. This was my first contact with English. As I was interested in knowing what those symbols meant, my parents taught me a bit. After they felt that I was eager to learn, they found me an English tutor. By starting learning English at really early age, I had an advantage in learning it. And I have to thank my parents for this.

My interest in English brought me to the world of English literature. I have been enchanted by the creative world since then, so I decided to major in English literature. My aim is to explore the world of literature and the world of great writers and thus to open my eyes and cultivate my mind.

I am Xia-dung Fang; my English name is Matthew. I am seventeen years old, studying in a private high school. There are five people in my family. My father is a military officer and my mother is a housewife. Both of my younger brother and sister are junior high school students. You might think that my family is traditional and strict. However, it is the opposite. My parents are open-minded and have a good sense of humor. I must say I am lucky to grow up in this happy family.

My father certainly has a great influence on me. I always look up to him. His passion and dedication to the family is the best thing he gives us. He never forces us children to do things we don’t like. He encourages us to make our own decisions. That’s why I can join a lot of school activities and have the chance to develop my hobbies.

I have been very active in school activities. I am one of the computer freaks who just can’t take my eyes off the computer screen. My friends know I am good at computer, so once there computers have some problems, they will come to me. I am also a pitcher on the school baseball team. Our team has won many, many matches and we thus gained the title “unbeatable team.” I believe this is resulted form our constant practice, hard work, and our strong team spirit.

Although computer and baseball take up most of my leisure time, I manage to use some spare time to play the electronic guitar in a band. I use computer to make many of our songs into MIDI files and forward them to many of my friends. My friends love them and think them awesome. Nothing can make me more proud of myself than to be able to combine my computer skills with music. Don’t get me wrong. I didn’t neglect my study when I take part in so many activities. Unless my grades in school are OK, my parents won’t let me do all these.

I have been interested in computer since I was in the fifth grade of elementary school. At that time my father had a big computer on his desk. Every time I saw how concentrated my father was while using the computer, I was full of admiration. So I said to myself: “Some day, I am going to be like that.” Later my father gave me a new computer, and ever since then, I was addicted to computer, especially after the emergence of the Internet. In fact, surfing the net has become my greatest interest.

The e-commerce has changed our traditional form of life style. Take my case for example: I keep in touch with my friends through email; I send my greetings through e-cards; I buy books from e-bookstore; I shop at many websites and search information through searching engines.

Not to mention how the e-era has bought the most powerful reform to the business world. Banks and stock markets, as well as companies, do transaction through the net, and the space and time limitation no longer exist. I am fascinated with the new change and eager to take part in it.
