澳洲和新畿內亞有一種叫bowerbird的小鳥, 當公鳥和母鳥遇上時, 公鳥會在交配前築一個巢, 然後拚命在外面找尋把母鳥最喜愛的東西, 最後堆成一堆堆, 送給母鳥, 然後再做傳宗接代事..... 這種小鳥已知有3種不同結構的巢, 一種像法國凱旋門, 一種像墨西哥帽, 一種是中間有一支柱的倒放碗型洞穴. 但最重要的是, 公鳥只會收集某種母鳥特別喜愛的東西, 包括小花, 黑苺, 蝸牛殼, 光滑的石頭, 顏色鮮艷的東西等等, 為的只是想奪得心儀女生的歡心.
