TASS indeed is an abbreviation for "Telegraph Agency of The Soviet Union"
But it is also a noun that has two meanings.
1. 'Tass' is the name of a Russian Daily.
2. 'Tass' is also a glass of wine (more popularly referred to by the Scots.
