春節 Chinese New Year
「新年」the Lunar new year holidays

The Spring Festival is a different name for the Chinese New Year . It's celebrated according to the lunar calendar , It's actually celebrated in winter . The month prior to the New Year is called Lahyueh Every year ,

  When Lahyueh arrives , families are getting busy making preparations for the New Year . Besides cleaning up your house inside and outside , you have to buy Nienhuo .

  Food and other articles for use during the New Year season are called Nienhuo differs from family to family comforming to their own custom . However , almost every family prepares a special kind of New Year pudding made 0f glutinous rice flour .

  People also get New Year couplets written and pasted on door panels and get ready their red packages to give money to children . People bustle about until the New Year's Eve .

  The New Year's Eve is the most celebrated day during the Spring Festival .

  The New Year's Eve is the day before the Chinese New Year . All family are getting together to have a plentiful dinner . During the Spring Festival season , people usually make ceremonial calls on New Year to wish good luck to friends .

春節就是中國新年,是按著農曆算的,應該算是在冬天。新年的前一個月叫做臘月。一進臘月,家家都為了過年忙起來了。除了要把房子裡裡外外都弄乾淨,還得買許多年貨。年貨是春節裡要吃的或是用的東西,每一家有自己的習慣,不都一樣。但是年糕是一定要準備的,用的有春聯、紅包什麼的,一直要忙到除夕才休息,除夕是中國新年的前一天,是春節裡最熱鬧的一天。這天全家人一定要團圓在一起,吃一頓年夜飯。新年裡大家互相拜年。互祝這新的一年裡,什麼事都順利。

古時傳說在歲末寒冬季節,就有一種長得像獅子一般的凶惡怪獸,叫「年獸」的會出來找尋食物充飢,不管是動物或是人,只要是被牠碰上了就沒命,所以每到天黑,大家就聚在一起,點上火把,一整晚輪流敲鑼打鼓,想嚇走這隻怪獸,有的躲起來,直到天亮了才敢出來,一出來,大家就互相查看有無受傷,如果一切安泰,就互道恭喜歡慶大家又平安渡過了一年。

  代代相傳,大家都知道明亮的火光,巨大的聲響,鮮紅的色彩都可以嚇阻「年獸」,久而久之就演變成一種習慣,那就是在冬末時期,家家戶戶都會貼上大紅紙,不論人在多遠也都會趕回老家,團圓一起吃頓年夜飯互道平安,並發些紅包給小輩沖沖喜,通宵鞭炮也響連天,接著幾天鞭炮鑼鼓聲不斷,滿街都可見到有人裝著「年獸」模樣,表演著「年獸」被鞭炮鑼鼓聲嚇得蹦蹦跳跳的樣子。『過年』的習俗就此形成了。

  到如今更有了改良,如紅紙上寫了春聯及吉祥的話,鞭炮也有了環保的無垃圾的CD 錄音,「年獸」更成了歡慶的舞龍舞獅表演。「龍」在中國本是吉祥的象徵,傳說牠掌管降雨,所以舞龍就可以保佑當年風調雨順、五穀豐收。如今舞龍舞獅已成為民俗活動,添飾新春的熱鬧氣氛。

  而除夕晚上人們除了團圓一起吃年夜飯外,也安排了各種餘興節目,包括放鞭炮、擲骰子、打麻將等等。

  其實『年』的本意是指穀物成熟。由『禾』和『千』兩字組合而成;表示穀物纍纍,收成良好。古書上將五穀成熟,豐收之年,稱為『有年』,後人又把穀物的一熟算做一年。周代,是以『年』稱歲,一年的開頭叫做『歲首』。西漢太初元年(公元前104年),漢武帝劉徹創建『太初曆』時,正式訂立每年正月為歲首,正月初一為元旦。並以二十四節氣指導農業生產,所以又稱為『農曆』。農曆元旦,新年都是指中國年中的第一天。民國成立後,正式採用了世界通用的陽曆,訂每年的陽曆1月1日為元旦,把中國農曆元旦改稱「春節」。從此以後,中國人稱農曆的正月初一為「春節」。

曆新年是中國節令中最重要、最盛大的一個節慶,除舊佈新,象徵著新的開始。年尾在各商家慰勞員工一年辛勞工作的尾牙聚餐之後,家家戶戶就開始了上街採購、年糕、年菜、各類新年飾物的活動,到處都是喜氣洋洋的,在家中也有去舊迎新的大掃除,所以街頭巷尾都充滿著過年的氣氛景緻。

  除夕是新年的高潮,各家都把最好、最喜歡吃的菜餚準備著。過年為討個吉利,連食材上也以其諧音;形象取些吉祥話,如菜頭「好彩頭」、豆腐干是「天官賜福」、豆芽「吉祥如意」、海帶「代代相傳」、長年菜「天長地久」、蹄膀「一團和氣」、湯圓「家家團圓」、發糕「恭喜發財」、雞翅膀「展翅高飛」、蛋餃「元寶」、春捲「金磚」、橘子「大吉大利」、蘋果「平平安安」、鳳梨「旺旺來」等等數不清的趣談。另外在牆壁四周更貼上優美及喜氣洋洋詞句的春聯、年畫、剪紙,代表著新的一年大家都平安順利,財源滾滾。

  當晚全家團聚,先祭祀祖先和神靈,以示慎終追遠,飲水思源之意。再吃個快樂的年夜飯,年夜飯中雞、鴨、魚、肉都有,象徵著過往的豐收,而菜中的魚在除夕夜通常是不吃的,留到次日之後才能吃,意味著「年年有餘」。 中國人很重視除夕夜,出門在外工作的親人都會不遠千里的趕回溫馨的家中與家人圍爐吃團圓飯,即使未能趕回家的親人,也會替他擺上一副碗筷,以示全家團圓。圍爐之後梳洗一番,一家大小換上新衣飾,長輩們端坐上位,小輩們排著隊,一個個上前磕頭、領紅包。一晚上的守歲節目更精采,大人們有的喝茶嗑瓜子,邊吃著精緻的零食,邊聊著家常趣事,也有的開始了中國的方城之戰---麻將。晚輩們有的跟著長輩們聽故事,有的擲著骰子試試今年的運勢,更有的小輩們已經人人一手一支香,點上小沖天炮,看著炮竹衝上天空,高興得手舞足蹈。當然熬不到天亮的,就把紅包壓在枕頭下睡個元寶覺,希望帶著喜氣護佑著一年的幸運,所以紅包又稱為「壓歲錢」。

  大年初一一大早,耳邊就充滿著此起彼落的鞭炮聲,大家以嶄新的心情去迎接新的一年。婆婆、媽媽、奶奶們正忙著將年糕製作成許多好吃的糕點,分享大家,希望人人都能步步高昇。一家大小也穿上新裝,先跟自家人拜個發財年,再跟親朋好友聚聚玩玩互道個恭喜彼此問候、關懷和祝福,祝福這新的一年大家都平安順心。

  大年初二,更是忙碌,已出嫁的女兒們不論家住國內、國外,大都會由夫婿陪著,牽、抱著兒女,帶著各類禮品,坐車、趕火車、搭飛機的直奔娘家。俗稱「大年初二回娘家」,媽媽們早已準備著佳餚等候,岳父母和女婿、女兒互道家常,再分發兒孫們「壓歲錢」,一家和樂融融的歡度一天,當晚或次日女婿、女兒們又牽、抱著兒女趕返家門,所以大年初二、初三車水馬龍,到處塞車。初四為諸神返回人間的日子,大街上還可以看到各宮廟的遊街活動。

  連假五、六日,大年初五一大早,鞭炮、鑼鼓聲不斷,各商家都正式大開門戶,迎接新氣象,有的宮廟、武館會派些舞龍舞獅隊及扮財神爺的人員進到各商家拜年,帶些喜氣與財氣,各商家也會回贈一只小紅包應景,希望財神在新的一年裡能多多光臨。 接著商家各自全體員工團拜,新的一年又開始,「一元復始,萬象更新。」,大家又各歸各位正常工作了。(現在也有部分商家,為配合出遊的人潮,提早於年初一就開門招財進寶,大發利市。)

  不過一般來說,一定要過了正月十五日「元宵節」才算是過了年,所以元宵節又稱為「小過年」。元宵節那天吃元宵、看花燈是重頭戲。猜謎、看表演、領獎品更熱鬧。

(門神) The God of protection the Door

從前中國人過年的時候,家家戶戶都在大門尚貼上門神。門神是唐代的開國元勳秦瓊和尉遲恭兩位威武的將軍。 人們為什麼會把他們印在紙上當作門神呢?有這麼一段傳說。

  一天,唐太宗夢見一位大將軍來向他求救。那位將軍說:「我是東海的龍王,天地命令我到人間降雨,唉!我去遲了,以致河水乾了,土地裂了,全國各地都鬧旱災,天帝知道後大怒,判我死刑,明天五時由你的大臣魏徵監斬,到時候,如果魏徵不來,我就能活命。」太宗很同情龍王,就答應了他的請求。

  第二天一大早太宗就叫魏徵來陪他下棋,從早上一直下到中午,魏徵實在太累了,就打了一個盹兒,誰知他竟然在夢中去監斬了。

  從此以後,海龍王的冤魂每晚都來找太宗,蠻願他部首信用,太宗心中十分不安,夜夜不能入睡。於是就請秦瓊和尉遲恭兩位將軍守在大門口,龍王才不再來了。

  後來人們把秦瓊和尉遲恭的畫像貼在大門上,據說有驅鬼避邪保平安的意思。
