Hello 美人
Thanks for the complement. I reckon 'putting on airs of superiority' is most appropriate. How about 'riding a high horse'? And MPL ... Lady Futari has done me a favour by providing a list of synonyms from A-U (almost 'Z'). Check them out with your English/Chinese dictionaries. Best regards.

Hello Futari/Geoette
I now know the meaning of the word 'UPPITY'. It is interesting. Thanks Futari, your summary of "In short, 'uppity' = putting on airs of superiority. "(狂妄)自大的" is very clear to me. Geoette, thank you for the trouble. I now know the meaning of UPPITY, and also learnt a new phrase - "riding a high horse" Thank you again ^^
