I heard this term "historical present" from studio calssroom today.
"並不是所有發生的事都要用過去式來敘述.有時候可用現在式動詞來敘述往是目的就是要讓過去的事情拉到現在,活現在眼前這種用法稱為historical present." 以上敘述擷取自空中英語教室
