Fired rice with flat beans (Dolichos lablab Linn) tastes very delicious, but it will ruin your appetite just having the flat beans as a dish.

1. The word “Fired” should be “Fried” instead.

2. The word “delicious” is an adjective. To prefix the adverb “very” to the adjective “delicious” is to modify comparatively the adjective, which does not sound right in Queen’s English. It is like you don’t say ‘very perfect’ but just ‘perfect’

3. If I have to write it, I will change the sentence to:

"Fried rice with flat beans (Dolichos lablab Linn) tastes delicious, but having the flat beans alone will ruin your appetite."

Geo, I agree with you except that "very delicious" looks fine to me.

I don't disagree with you. In fact 'very delicious' is grammatically correct. In that sentence, 'delicious' itself is already a superlative and positive adjective. To add 'very' in front seems to weaken it.
