倫敦的大霧和當地的地理環境和大氣污染有關。英國是大西洋中的一個島國，而倫敦又處於英國東南部的一塊盆地上。盆地的南北兩側是東西走向的山嶺，泰晤士河自西向東穿過市區注入北海，市區離河口只有 88千米 。在西風和北大西洋暖流的影響下，倫敦的氣候溫暖潮濕，屬溫帶海洋性氣候。秋冬季節，當西風把大西洋的水氣吹向陸地時，白天和晚上的溫差比較大，盆地空氣相對穩定，流動不暢，下層空 氣受冷以後，往往會形成漫天大霧，並且循環往復，久不消散。加上倫敦的工業和交通迅速發展，工礦企業和汽車排出的大量煙塵飄浮在空氣中，變成了霧的凝結核，這也是促成大霧的一個原因。 Get the attached file here.
