Yeah those are good examples.
"Let's catch the bus" is another common phrase, meaning is similar. @ Montanius: Actually TW's 公车 comes from 公共汽车, but hardly anyone use the full term now.

...and I learn now this 搭, I knew only 坐 and 乘。
The problem with the original example is that "to school", it looks like a location, but actually it is not, or just partly, it made it quite complex. I think 上学 or 上下学 is better for it than 去学校。 (I don't know if there is a section here for to school/to the school, to bed/to the bed etc.) Anyway, how to translate it?... Let's catch the bus! - 让我们赶上公车把 Let's catch the bus to (the) school! - 让我们赶上公车去学校把 Or how would you say this in everyday life? Is it correct to say 上学坐的公车 for "the bus that I use for going to school"? Quote:

After some "research", I noticed “去学校” or "上学” seem to be interchangeable, so you're right to point that out.
However, "上学” has more meaning when used in different scenarios. Let's catch the bus! - 让我们赶上公车把 Let's catch the bus to (the) school! - 让我们赶上公车去学校把 Or how would you say this in everyday life? YQ: Your translation is not wrong, but any word for word translation would sound unnatural. I think a closer example could be "快上公车吧!" For my case, I would simply say "公车来了!" Is it correct to say 上学坐的公车 for "the bus that I use for going to school"? YQ: Should be correct. If it's a school bus, we simply call it 校车。
