It was a typo (thanks to Lady Futari's riddle "Olny Sramt Poelpe Can Raed Tihs"). Indeed, I had meant 'gurl'. Sorry for that. And thanks to Glot for the amendment.

To 美人

The word 'dire' is a repeat; just up two levels in the same 'condo'.
Heh Heh, you also have your riddle (A BIRD IN THE the BUSH) to thank.

Cheers.

Thanks for reminding.

Futari, I cannot easily read the webpages of the link you provided, but as the website is named "global-language", I wonder whether "gurr" is an English word or not.
Tim, would you help me out?

You need to install the plugin DjVu first before you can properly view the pages there. That site features The Century Dictionary. So all the words there are from that dictionary, which was first published in the late 19th century. It is also one of the best dictionaries ever.

Besides the definition quoted from there, gurr also means growl or snarl according to Webster's Third New International.

Tim

Note: The attached file is a clip of what you can see from that dictionary.

Well, Glotynn, the word is from << The Century Dictionary >> Vol. III, page 2660. Guess you need to get the DjVu Plug-in before you can read that online dictionary.

If the word "gurr" is not accepted by all, I'll be glad to replace it with "gurt".
