Xi An 29 June Wednesday, Jun 29 2011

Hot. 39 degree?

I have meetings everyday.  Today meeting is especially different as I have to meet up 30 locals to discuss about the project.  I was quite worried before the meeting as I might not be able to understand the slang and jargons.

To my surprise, I handle it with ease.

Peoples in the north west are introverted and are not tactful.  They tend to get emotional during discussion and I could easily interpret as an argument but in fact it was just they way it is.

They are introverted as compared to the coastal cities whom have travel and move around with ease such as my ancestol. In Xi An or Shananxi they are trapped in their locality and sheldom move around.  Over the year it makes them careful in their action and less bold.  However, they are frank in nature.

It will take time again for me to re adjust to the people here.

I need to ADAPT.

27 June 2011 Xi An Monday, Jun 27 2011

Xi an has not changed much…… in the city area.  It is slightly cleaner at the street and the government spend resources to ensure the streetscape is presentable for the World International horticultural exposition.  Guess this is the next greatest event after taipei’s international floral expo.

But outside the city, there are development is all direction.  In particular at the wild goose pogoda area.  It was totally transformed and big player likes Westin hotel is coming in.

I was in the wild goose pogoda last night after a hearty meal of indian cusine.  Yes, due to the wild goose pogoda, there is steady indian tourist visiting it and in the same street at the western end there are south east asia and indian restaurants.

I practiced my pottery here too and hope to picking it up again.

Xi An–25June Saturday, Jun 25 2011

I am glad that I am sitting here having my breakfast in my hostal this morning.  I have finally make it to Xi An!

The protest and commotions from the passengers still ringing in my ear at this moment.  Beijing International airport afterall was clearly not up to the marks for crowd control.

I was re-routed and stop over at 中卫before coming over to Xi An, the entire trip from singapore to Xi An took 19 hours!

I have never near the desert at the north so this could be a blessing as I could survey from the airbus on the extend of the desert.

I had a good sleep last night.

23June2011 to 19Aug2011 trip to Xi An Thursday, Jun 23 2011

I thought I could re kick start my oversea trip blog.

I am at the airport keying this blog.

Thinking of living in Xi An for the next 2 months …. XIAN(tired).

I have explored most aspects of Xi An at last several trips but the urban condition and the weathers turn me off.

I was there last week and the weather is going to be hotter.

At night I could have hardly any energy for night activities and there werent any places that interest me.

Thus, I would probably stay in and carrying on with works.

Or perhaps I could blog about this boring trip…

That would give myself reasons to explore Xi An further.

So bear with me folks…….

Recipe, Baked BigCucumber + Tomato Sunday, Dec 6 2009

Ingredients:

Big cucumber*1,

Tomato*4

Onion*1,

Garlic* 1 clove,

Olive oil* 1 table spoon;

Parmesan cheese powder*2 table spoon,

Seasonings:
Thyme, Nutmeg powder, Basil, salt, pepper * flavor to your taste

1.     Peel, cut lengthwise and slice the cucumber.  Slice the tomatoes also,
2.     Fry the onion and the garlic in the oil, add in salt and pepper for the flavor
3.     Use an baking pan, spread the fried onion at the bottom, put down the tomato and cucumber slices, top with the seasonings(spicies, cheese posder, salt and peper),
4.         Preheat oven to 190℃, bake 25~30minutes or till the cucumber become tender.

You can try this recipe on other squashes/melons, give it a try and tell me what you get J

剛剛聽電台,說家庭主婦 called housewife.. but nowadys there are more and more men satying at home to do something like a hosewife done,so How we called them?–>househusband > . And we could use a word to cover housewife or househusband, it is “homemaker”.

Where are you from? Tuesday, Feb 3 2009

     Where are you from???

Every time i talk to them, they will introduce me to others:Lily is from China…They call mainland “China”,you know.

      Who are they?

They are from Taiwan…It is true that Lily is from China, but they are from China, too…We are  from China,so the place “China” cannot express the clear place where we are from…

One day,i could not help asking them why they called mainland”China’….Wasn’t tw a part of China???They told me TW was different from China for TW was a country.Oh, i noticed that they were the people who were for Taiwan’s being a independent country….Then a debate between they and I was on…

I held the idea that tw was a part of China…Since 1945,the Japanese goverment had returned tw back to china. So it was not a country…

But they all viewed that tw used to be a part of China.Only when the an-ti Japanese war was over in 1945,was tw able to be independent of the Chinese goverment…In 1945,Japan only gave up tw,but it did not mean that Japan returned tw back to China!!!At last, they asked to get to study the genuine history…

I noticed that things were not as simple as i thought,it was not only about whom tw belonged to,but the different history we have learned…At last,we did not give in to each other and our friendship was on…You see, that was only politics and history…

The history in Mainland and in Taiwan are extrodinarily different.Actually,i am wondering whose history is genuine…I cannot imagine that i have been  with the taiwanese people who are for the Republic of Taiwan so long. What is worse,i find out that a load of Chinese overseas i know are for that so-called country  as well…I do not know why and really look forward to the genuine history, not a fake …

The other day,i picked up this topic with a malaysian Chinese as he called mainland “China” as taiwanese did .He told me directly that the most important thing was that people needed to live,as for him, whether tw belonged to China was not so important…

That is right. The most important thing is that Taiwanese need to have a happy life.Whether tw is a country or not, only the genuine history will tell…As for me,a high school student, that is all i can do…

No matter where they are from, there is no gap between they and me…We are humans on earth…We need to live happily!!!Am I right?

However,i will be proud to say I come from China.

       Then where are you from?

The poor Wednesday, Jan 28 2009

There are two kinds of people:the poor and the rich…

Nowadays the poor are poorer while the rich are richer…

It is a raw deal for the poor are being treated unfairly…

Recently, the industry has slimmed down…As for a company,it is a necessity to slim the workforce to benefit itself in the long run so that the bosses are richer and richer. As for the workers, they are laid off so that they are poorer and poorer…As a consequence, the rich are richer while the poor are poorer…

For the poor, they are out of a job…They have to cut down a old suit and make a new one out of it for their kids to cut down expense…What is worse, they are willing to limit expense to what they can afford…As the day goes on,the balance in their accounts is nearly 0 yuan…That means they has run out of money…Then they cannot afford kids’ school fee and their kids have to draw out of school…You know, a man without a good knowlege is likely to get a hard job…So it is hard for their kids to change their life by a knowledge and there is a slimmer chance without a good knowledge…Maybe they would be poor from generation to generation…Even poorer…

For the rich, they are richer and richer…You see, they always squeeze the poor workers out, which accounts for their richness…Of course, they have too much money to spend…They are wondering how to cost their money and make full use of their weath…But few of them will help the poor with their money…Do you know the Project Hope?Actually, the source of the money are from the kind-hearted people, not all from the rich…Only the poor will know the poor…Even though some rich people used to be the poor…

I do not know why it is…

If only the bank would lend money to the poor without limit?Do you think it will be funny? If the rich would share weath with the poor…Can you imagine what  there will be in the future…Without the poor or the rich???

        Haha…

I wish each poor family would not  starve to death anymore…and every  poor peoson would be able to have at least  one bowl of porriage every meal…

My holiday! Wednesday, Jan 28 2009

I am on my winter vacation…I have had got more than10days off…During these days,i have done nothing…I would be nervous when i wasted too much time…I am in trouble with how to pay my focus on my study again you know i did little homework…

I am a seinor student ,you know.I will be face with the university entrance examination in 2010.I have to study. It is all what i can do and must do at present.I am a top student in school…But nothing is best…and everything should be better…That is why i have to study. For i want to go to the best university in china…

I have to devote myself to study…I must do…You know, the education system in China is different from those in other countries.China has the largest population in the world…And this calls for its kids to study well to get a good job…Many graduates are faced with the pressure from the jobs…You know that the industry has slimmed down so that many workers are out of a situation, and there is a slimmer chance to get a good job…Many mothers have to make new suits out of old ones for their kids to limit expense to what they can afford…What is worse, some families are not able to support their kids to study in school…China is poor…Its man is poor…

My parents are both office workers in Chinese goverment,I am lucky that i do not have to care much about money…But i have to study…It is my duty…

    Study!Study!Study!
